They Say I’m Strong

they say i’m strong

but i never asked for this

is it right, or is it wrong,

to just give in to it?

i’m fighting for a life

i’ll never really get to live

there’s a pain worse than a knife

when you’ve given all you can give

and my hope’s burned to the wick

to melted wax and melted dreams

until i have no life outside of sick

pain a constantly flowing stream

is there strength in holding on

when you’re holding on to lies?

is there a point past too far gone

where there’s no point to even try?

i tried to fall

but got suspended in pain

and i’ve given all,

but still hopelessness reigns

  1. I would be ‘they’ in your life. You are strong-willed which is a good thing,….most of the time. You are strong in God’s teachings & the victory we have because of Jesus. You are strong in your moral beliefs. You are strong when you are taking care of yourself.
You are strong in love for your family & strong in compassion for others. Being strong allows you to be there for whatever comes along & knowing prayer & family are there with unconditional LOVE to support you. ❤️

  2. Kaley, I’m a journalist and was just assigned to write a story on PANDAS and PANS I think you found on my blog. Thank you for reading it. I have to admit before this assignment I knew nothing of these diseases. I hope I’ve done the topic some justice. I just wanted to say, reading a few of your posts, your courage and willingness to share your experience with others is incredible. You are inspiring. Thank you, and God bless you.

    1. Thank you so much! I think it’s great that you wrote on PANS/PANAS it’s a subject most people haven’t heard of. I only learned of it when I was diagnosed. I thought your post was great! Thanks again!
