I fell like the raindrops
And shattered like the stars
I’ll stop when the pain stops
Or when it calls me to arms
When meadows and gallows alike call me home
My fate has been forged in blood, iron, and bone
For I survived in the fire
And beat down death with the desire
To live life like a child
Unburdened, unbroken, and wild
So I fell like the raindrops
And shattered like the stars
Please, make the pain stop
And mend me my scars
Evening, Needless to say, I LOVE π your writing. I am so glad I got online before going to sleep. Your choice of words is so descriptive: meadows & gallows – two words yet so many thoughts & interpretations. You need not use any more words. Also, again I feel Hope in this prose, a survivor. Now I shall fall asleep with sweet dreams.
Big Boy is sleeping on the floor next to me. He is not doing well, Iβm afraid. Dr. Reiter thinks he has an infection in his brain which is affecting his movement. Itβs mainly on his right side now. So sad as he is a wonderful kitty. We will take him to the vet in the AM. Love you, Gramma
